This publication is an ambitious project that aims to celebrate the vast community of Toscano cigar enthusiasts, the legendary Italian brand founded in 1815 in the tobacco works of Florence and officially sold on the market in 1818. Oliviero Toscani, universally considered one of the greatest photographers of our times, took hundreds of portraits of people who smoke the Toscano. For years involved in Razza Umana, a photography/video project on different human morphologies and conditions, with Two Hundred Years Toscano Cigar the photographer aims to create a body-print and capture the faces of people around the Toscano cigars. This unique and precious publication will offer Toscano cigar enthusiasts a way to get to know the variety of human identities but also the inside of the tobacco works, the women and men who each day make this all possible and in particular the cigar makers who create this extraordinary product.
