This volume is an opportunity to present the new Chapel of the Maternity Ward of the Hospital of Careggi in Florence. The space, intimate and comfortable, designed by the interiors architect Gianluca Soldi, has been intended as a multidimensional realization, with habitats that are intentionally separated and communicating at the same time. With the exception of the altar mensa, which is the only recovered element, although equipped of a new base, the entire furnishing of the chapel has been designed and realized brand new: the ambo in serene stone with insertion in pale gold leaf, the tabernacle placed on the left side of the front wall, the stained glass windows made in amber-color glass of Murano with dark-brown frames that harmonize with the dominant gold, the chairs and the benches (with structure in painted iron and seat in leather) characterized by light and harmonic lines. The chapel moreover contains works of remarkable interest. By the artist Enrico Savelli from Pistoia the diaphanous Madonna in pink marble from Portugal, a half figure placed in the niche lateral to the altar, and the stoup in marble of Carrara placed at the entrance. The furnishing of the chapel is completed with three works by the Florentine artist Filippo Rossi who is the author of the great altarpiece dedicated to the conjugal Crucifix, as well as of the Hail Holy Queen and of the Dance of the Hail.
