Considered an international leader in the neo-pop movement as well as one of the most prominent figures of Middle Eastern contemporary art, Farhad Moshiri (1963) became well known for his ironic interpretations of hybrids between traditional Iranian forms and those of the globalized consumerist and popular culture. Utilizing a repertoire of medium and tools, Moshiri critically examines pertinent issues today and plays with the codes of modernism while developing a flamboyant iconography. - While Farhad Moshiri remains amongst the most important and iconic contemporary Middle Eastern artists of our time, the literature that has been published so far about his work does not cover the spectrum of his oeuvre. - Gathering approximately 160 works, the monograph approaches Moshiri's work both thematically and chronologically.
