An eclectic artist who always strove to experiment with new materials and unprecedented forms of expression, Aldo Mondino is now acknowledged to have been one of the greatest italian artists since the war. His work ranges from collage to painting, to installation and sculpture, but sculpture in particular forms a leit-motif in his work, for the Turin-born artist always sought out plastic solutions even iun his approach to painting. For the first time, we here have an overview of his activity from the 1960s through to his untimely death in 2005. The story of his extraordinay creations is accompanied by his unique research into materials, which ranged from chocolate to bronze, to ceramic and glass, and through to wood and Bic ballpoint pens.
